Embarrassed

I said I wanted to talk Cowboys, but I do not. That was a nightmare, and it's going to haunt me for the next several months. That was a joke, and I do not get it.

DeMarcus Ware stays. Jason Witten stays. Nick Folk stays. Tashard Choice stays. Those four did everything that was asked of them. Everyone else struggled at one point or another. Romo, Barber, Owens, Newman, Hamlin, Spencer, Ellis. Everyone else.

And the coaching staff? Awful. Terrible. Ridiculous. I'm not sure I keep any of them.

I said yesterday that there are times when sports drive me crazy. Times when I don't want to watch a single game of anything. When I don't want to listen to the Ticket or turn on SportsCenter.

This is one of those times. Grrrrrr.

Rebirth

Hello everyone - this is my blog. I've wanted to restart a blog for a while (I very briefly had one in college), and I thought now was as good a time as ever. I can't promise it will always be compelling or funny or even interesting, but I'm going to do it anyway. I'm also not sure who will ever read this, but God bless you if you are.

I guess I should introduce myself. I'm Drew, and I lead a very uninteresting life (so I will not bore you with many details). I have a very boring (and, at times, infuriating) job at JPMorgan, and that's sucked a lot of the fun out of my life recently. A lot of my fun times revolve around my roommate's beautiful 52-inch TV. My buddies and I will play video games on it, we'll watch movies and television in glorious HD, and then there's sports.

In the solar system of my life (at least right now), sports would be the Sun. I live in Dallas, and I love the four major teams (the Cowboys, Stars, Mavericks, and Rangers...probably in that order...at least at the moment), and I also love the TCU Horned Frogs in college football. I set up the blog the night of TCU's 17-16 win in the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl, and that's why there's a purple and black theme. Go Frogs!

Unfortunately, since I live in Dallas, my sports fandom has been very frustrating. From the disappointment of the Cowboys in the Romo era (including the awful loss to the Giants last year to the fumbled snap against Seattle) to the Mavs' collapse against the Heat (something that still keeps me up at night) to the Rangers...in general. The Stars and TCU also like letting me down at the worst possible moment; usually right when I believe they're capable of doing something amazing.

I'm getting all of this out of the way because tomorrow I feel I'm going to have a lot to say about the Cowboys. Tomorrow, America's Team is going to be facing the Philadelphia Eagles, and it will determine whether or not the incredibly talented but incredibly disappointing Cowboys make it into the playoffs or not. I hate the Eagles, and I really can't believe this is how this season will end. So I wanted to get all of the introductions over with so I can get down to business in about 30 or so hours.

But don't worry, this won't all be about sports. In fact, there are times when I can't stand them...and I'll want to talk about anything but sports. Tomorrow, however, I'm a 24-year-old Dallas Cowboys fan...and I'm going to want to talk about the freakin' Cowboys.

And that's it. I hope, if you're reading, you enjoy it. Either way, I think I'll enjoy writing. If not, like my last blog, I will just click "delete" and move on.
